Pride Aroostook was created as an official nonprofit in 2023.

​Where we come from

Many of us grew up within Aroostook County. Some of us have settled here for various reasons. Whatever brought us here however all are committed to making Pride Aroostook the best it can be.

Pride Aroostook started years ago with the Aroostook Boys and Girls Club. Later we were taken under wing and sponsored by the Aroostook County Action Program. 

Now we have come into our own and formed our own  official nonprofit organization, and while there may be some growing pains we are excited to continue to learn and support the community

From the back roads to the back porches, Pride Aroostook is a welcoming & inclusive community of rural & small-town LGBTQ+ folks & our allies. We are committed to supporting County residents & providing spaces for us to be our whole, authentic selves.
